Put your tips for running and playing the tech demo of LMK here. So far, I haven't had much luck. On Win7, running it in compatibility mode for Windows 98/ME gives me camera control, and I can pick up items. That's about it.

Can't figure out movement yet, and don't know what many keys do. 'I' is inventory.
No movements for me either. Space you get a list of options like inventory, magic, combat etc..

Apparently if open a window like inventory you have to right click to close it, pressing I again doesn't work, at least not for me.

Are you suppose to move your character with a mouse or keyboard?
The only way to move that I could find is by pointing your cursor where you want to go and then hit T to teleport. You can enter places like the crypt with a right-click on the entrance.
Combat works normally with left-click as long as you teleport into range first. Conversations with NPCs are also done via left-click after teleporting close to them.

I've found that A toggles a debug log and E an "Egg editor" which seems to be about monster spawn. N toggles an NPC menu.
The thing is that I can't seem to get the mouse to work with those developer windows.
You can however close them again by hitting Alt+F4 oddly enough, like they are considered a separate program.

Esc closes the tech demo, as does death of the character.

Oh and Win98 compatibility started to crash the program on start after a couple attempts for me. I had better luck going back to Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode.

I was able to move by pressing and holding right mouse button
Somehow I never thought of trying that. Habit I guess, since usually the games of this genre use the left mouse button for walking. Thanks for finding it out.

Me neither! What a miss. Thanks, malkh.
Dunno if this is useful but I noticed that if you get near a hostile monster, your guy will spazz out swinging whatever weapon. Don't let that fool you: it seems to be a visual glitch that pretty much just informs you something is near and you still need to left click on a monster in order to attack them, you can't expect to simply face them and swing without that click.
