Hello! Before starting I want to appologize for my english (i'm from argentina).

Well, my problem is with only one savegame. I was playing and my machine suddenly crashed. When I tryed to load the savegame I was playing, I couldnt because the game says that it's a savegame from an old version of the game.

After reading on internet I've tried reinstaling, cheked the quantity of files on my save game, I downloaded an hexaedit in order to check the quickinfo.000 (as I read on some treads) and it was empty (i mean it was all 00000000000000 inside)

When I copied a quickinfo.000 from another savegame and replace on the one with the problem, I was able to load the game but when finish loading the game crashed.

So I have no idea what else to do.

Thanks for your help!

That should have worked, if the problem was just with the quickinfo.000 file...

When you checked the number of files in your latest save, compared to your most recent working saves, did you notice if there were any large differences in file sizes?

If you make a copy of both your most recent save folder and your latest working one, you should be able to narrow down where the problem is by systematically replacing groups of file from the working save copy to the non-working save copy, until you find the file or files that get it working. A mistake overwriting the wrong files could be serious, so you might want to zip or otherwise backup your current saves, first.
Alternately, if you wish you can zip your latest save and email it to me (raze@larian.com) to take a look at.

There are not large differences in file sizes, there are some files that are bigger in the savegame that doesn't work but I suppouse is because I have done a lot more than in the savegame that works.

I've read that replacing some files might cause some 'alternative' problems when playing, any idea if they thats too dangerous?

I'm sending you an e-mail.

Thnaks form your help! =)

Fye: I've read that replacing some files might cause some 'alternative' problems
Unfortunately, the other files causing a problem were the two story.* files, which keep track of quest information. There is no way to simple replace these files, since an older save will be missing information and files from a different character will have at least some problems from things done in a different order or quests in different stages of completion.

You'll have to restart from your last working save. Replacing the story and quickinfo files in the latest 'nericon' save will allow it to load, but upon exiting Iona's dungeon, there is no cutscene with Arhu (the cat) to give you the next main plot quest, because the story files from the earlier save don't have you even entering the castle yet.

You could use DAD's item editor or the Divine Divinity Item Editor to put a large damage value on a temporary weapon, so you can get through combat much faster until you catch up to where your latest save was. The second editor isn't as full featured, but should be more compatible if you have any dll errors with the first (some people reported errors in Win7/8).
