After playing for a bit and getting to the catacombs.. I ended up experiencing the crashing that everyone is talking about.. in fact I experienced it several times and was getting pretty frustrated...
I did some tooling around and set Div.exe to use one core instead of all of them(four) and set Process priority to "Realtime" and I was then able to play through the catacombs without any crashing or other problems.
OS: Windows 7 x64
Things to check:
-check run as Admin.
-Make sure compatibility is turned off.
-after first initializing the game minimize and go to your windows task manager(Alt+ctrl+Del) and then find Div.exe under the 'Processes' tab and set priority to "Realtime."
-Set Affinity - Set the process Affinity to just 1 core.
some of you might have to check "Show processes from all users" to access these functions.
I am in no way guaranteeing that this will work.. in fact I have no time to really test it.. but this also goes without saying.. what works on my PC may not work on yours.
Please let me know if it does or doesn't work!
Edit: went through the catacombs as different classes and at the worst I'm getting minor freeze ups but then it catches back up.. still IMO worth waiting for the patch to play seriously.
Great game i found myself really getting into it. Can't wait for the patch :)
