Furyus: It's listed as 2.0.103.346 except the file downloaded is numbered as 2.1.0.8?
Raze_Larian: The first is the game version number, the second GOG's patch version number.
Galaxy has not been optimized yet for download size, and once it decides it needs a particular amount of data, AFAIK does not re-check that if the download is cancelled and restarted, even if a manual patch is installed in the meantime.
With the launcher for D:OS (which was using the pre-beta update function of what would become Galaxy), I cancelled one of the updates when the download size was much smaller for the patch, and the launcher never re-checked what update was needed, even after a couple of updates to both the game and launcher.
The game version# vs GOG patch number is confusing but I kind of get it. Seems like GOG's number could be more simply a count of patches released (patch 1, patch 2, etc).
It's unfortunate that Galaxy can't determine what's going on here, the same logic is already being applied when you "import a folder" from a manual game install. I've installed games without patches and it immediately grabs the patch in Galaxy, I've also installed and patched manually before importing and Galaxy was good to go. Hopefully they get this up to speed soon!
Thanks for the insight on everything.
