My latest patch was patch2, now its patch4 and I am not able to upgrade. Why its not possible to download older patches or why noone tests the patcher?
Mine isn't either; but it turns out there was an error in the previous patch, that I missed (from patch log):

Divinity - Original Sin Enhanced Edition patch log
Update from version 2.0.3.6 to 2.0.4.7

Incorrect version of: C:\Games\Divinity - Original Sin Enhanced Edition\Data\Main.pak

These are the patches I installed. I check GOG's website several times a week, so if I missed a patch, it was either because there was no notfication in the library for it, or it was released and then updated so quickly I did not get the chance to download it:

Patch 2.0.1.4 - OK
Patch 2.0.3.6 - OK
Patch 2.0.4.7 - Error above (does not give incorrect version error, just says to check the error log)
Patch 2.1.0.8 - Incorrect version

So...well....

10GB to download again...woohoo :(

Gog keeps on rolling the updates into the original installers...so that people just purchasing the game will get the latest version immediately with the initial installation. Not so great though for people who have already purchased the game as they'll have to download the game all over again to get the benefit of the latest patch, sometimes.
Speaking of download - GOG Galaxy prefers to download huuuuuuge files when patching up - right now it downloads 6GB in order to install that patch for Divinity Original Sin EE... It can be sometimes frustrating when you have an internet monthly plan of 20GB data, but the game sucked me in completely.... It's not easy on Tactician, makes you think a lot and it's a great challenge.
GOG doesn't list the older patches in your library, but they don't remove them from the file servers, and you can contact support to get a link to previous patches that you missed.
similar problem here "does not support your version of the game".

stuff like this makes me furious especially because the enhanced version is buggy as hell.

gog - please fix this.
I'm very confused by the Galaxy behavior here. It's attempting to download 6GB of data for the recent patch, which if manually downloaded is only 107MB. It's listed as 2.0.103.346 except the file downloaded is numbered as 2.1.0.8?

I installed the manually downloaded patch but Galaxy keeps trying to download the 6GB even if I restart the program or perform the verify/repair operation. I fired up the game, I'm definitely running 2.0.103.346

The first is the game version number, the second GOG's patch version number.

Galaxy has not been optimized yet for download size, and once it decides it needs a particular amount of data, AFAIK does not re-check that if the download is cancelled and restarted, even if a manual patch is installed in the meantime.
With the launcher for D:OS (which was using the pre-beta update function of what would become Galaxy), I cancelled one of the updates when the download size was much smaller for the patch, and the launcher never re-checked what update was needed, even after a couple of updates to both the game and launcher.

The game version# vs GOG patch number is confusing but I kind of get it. Seems like GOG's number could be more simply a count of patches released (patch 1, patch 2, etc).

It's unfortunate that Galaxy can't determine what's going on here, the same logic is already being applied when you "import a folder" from a manual game install. I've installed games without patches and it immediately grabs the patch in Galaxy, I've also installed and patched manually before importing and Galaxy was good to go. Hopefully they get this up to speed soon!

Thanks for the insight on everything.

This is what I've got from this awesome support

"Your version of the game is too old for the patch to work. I'm sorry, but I'm unable to provide the missing updates. Please download the updated installer for the game or use the Galaxy Client to update it.
Sorry for the inconvenience
GOG - never again.

the lastest installed patch was
patch_divinity_original_sin_enhanced_edition_2.0.4.7

the NEXT patch after that, the current one making trouble, is
patch_divinity_original_sin_enhanced_edition_2.1.0.8

i would understand if there where like 2 or 3 other patchers in between but there aren`t. actually there is no patch in between at all.

how can the game version be "too old"?

Sorry about that. That was possible for D:OS, at least, but I guess they stopped keeping the previous patches when the Galaxy client became available.

I've got the same issue. Updated the game with only the 107mb patch but Galaxy won't recognize the new version and keeps downloading the 6Gb version. Galaxy is still in beta so I guess it will be fixed up as time goes by but in the meantime, I'm turning off automatic updates for this game.
