As a workaround you can enable rollbacks in Galaxy and go back to previous version (the one before galaxy support was added few days ago) until other solution is found / problem is corrected.

ThomasD313: I know about this option, but I am playing with a guy that plays this game on Steam and I dont know a way to do a rollback there.
He doesn't have to I think - galaxy support update didn't change in-game version so the previous one should still be valid for cross-play
