Hi guys,

We have added the latest patch for Divinity: Dragon Commander.

This patch introduces an autopatcher which will make it so that future updates will be automatically detected and installed.

This is a completely OPTIONAL feature. You will still be able to play without being connected to the net. You can also skip the check altogether by launching the game using DragonCommander.exe instead of DCApp.exe. You can block this with your firewall, if you so chose, and it will not affect your game whatsopever.

If you want the real nitty gritty as to what this does, it's as follows:

The autopatcher simply checks an XML online and if the version number of the DragonCommander.exe is lower than the one of the patch, it will offer to download the patch installer. You can then answer yes or no. Answering yes will download the patch installer and start it up. There is nothing else that happens than checking an XML and downloading an exe.

Thank you and have a nice day :D
Will manual patches still be available from GOG as usual?

2.0.4.9 is the version of this new patch I Am downloading now, not sure where the 1.0.64 comes from.

I believe we will update the installer every now and then but at least you have a choice in how you get your patches delivered to you :D

Hi all,

I just downloaded the update file then launched it but the ingame version is still 1.040.

If I try to re-launch the updater, it tells me that the update is already installed (note that the 'Launch game' button doesn't launch the game).

It's like the update was installed...elsewhere.

Can you help me, please ?

Thanks

Were you given the option of where to install the patch? Did you move the game or rename anything in the install path since the 1.0.40 update?

Try searching your drive for DragonCommander.exe to find where the patch put the update, and (if found) manually move the files over to the corresponding folder(s) in the game install.

You probably can not uninstall just the patch, but if you edit the registry you may be able to change the version number (if the patch is checking the registry for the installed version) to get it to install again. The Larian Vault version doesn't list the version in the registry (the patch also doesn't care if it is already installed), and has the install path listed under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Larian Studios\DC (at least in Win 7).
If you are not familiar with registry editing, it might be easier to uninstall then reinstall the game and patch.

Alternately, you can download the Larian Vault patch here.

This helped for me, thank you very much!
Yes, thank you for the link, the game is now 1.0.6.4 :)
I'm just curious - is there any chance that we'll see the remaining tracks from the game's soundtrack added to the bonus content at some point? There are about a dozen pieces, mostly battle music, not included in the current set; a thread about them is up on the Larian forums ( http://www.larian.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=473558#Post473558 ).
