Any tips for someone new to this game? I am mainly a Magic Player, so I love wizards.
Check out this thread and this thread as there are some helpful tips.

Also check out the Sticky Thread for basic tips and gameplay info . . . =)

As a magic player, you'll probably want to invest in alchemy. I'd conserve magic at the start since you won't have many resources at first to regenerate mana. The nice thing about the magic system is that you definitely get a number of spells to choose from :)

Very Helpful!
I love playing as a mage too :)
As mentioned before, the potion stuff is useful, as for attack spells I find meteorstrike in the beginning a good idea (in the original version it's so overpowered that you can get through the whole game with it) and then later on with the Lightning
TIP 1 There is an abandoned, locked, farm house north and east of the river, The key is nearby, search for it. Inside you will find some items and a "magic" bed that has no weight and will fit in your inventory.

TIP 2 Make a camp. Mine is by the trees just north of the Riverton teleporter. I put the bed there surrounded by chests I have picked up. I drop a teleport stone near the bed. Use the other stone when you need healing or when your inventory is full. Use the chests for storage for things you want to keep for later use.

TIP 3 The most powerful weapon in the game is any one with frost, It works no matter what resistances the enemy might have. You can survive those high level enemies you can stumble upon early in the game.

TIP 4 Early in the game, avoid finishing quests if you can. As you finish quests it lowers the experience you get for defeating enemies. Enemies do not respawn so you should get the maximum value you when fighting.

Tip 5 The "Brave Sir Robin" defense can be your best option. Do not forget to use it. www.montypython.net/sounds/full/robinran.wav

That's actually the one class I don't know much about for this game, sadly. But I also made a post a while back about the early game. It might be useful if you ever start up another character:

The catacombs can actually go by rather rapidly once you start to see how it works. They put a lot of nice things in there to make it easier, but you have to get what the things are and how they help.
