This is most definately not a review since I only played an hour or so in the game. This is just some thoughts on how I like DD so far and why. Well all I can say is DD is remarkable in every way. The graphics are beautiful for a 2002 game. I play it with 1680x1050 resolution so the objects in the game are small, but the environments look detailed and gorgeous. The skills system is addictive and the combat, as generic and simple as it is, feels wonderfull and right. I can't explain why the combat works so well, it just does. I like the idea of building your character however you want with only one special move being the difference between all the classes. The quests are interesting and the voice acting is so horrible that they are actually funny. I actually prefer the voice acting as it is; it gives the game a unique charm. Maybe that's just me. Anyway, DD has suprised me, a lot.
Would you consider yourself to be a Diablo veteran? As in do you play these types of Action RPGs a lot?
I ask because I'm considering picking this game up, but I've never really played Diablo type games.

Yeah I am a big Diablo fan. I also was a heavy Titan Quest player. If you enjoyed Diablo for it's flexible skill building then you should enjoy DD. DD has many similarities to Diablo, but it offers an open ended world to explore and allows you to learn any skill offered in the game. For 6 bucks, it is well worht the price.
I another Diablo fan (the original), who's also played alot of Titan Quest. I agree with Smoke. DD, with respect to combat and the class system, is very much like the original Diablo. It has a much more open world with an epic main quest and numerous side quests, more like Baldur's Gate or even The Elder Scrolls.
My best purchase on GoG since Descent 3. Well worth the price.
