Quick edit, 1 line: This refers to DOSEE. Couldn't figure out how to change the topics title tho...

"A quiet day on the market, it seems..."

If only /that/ would be true! Even during direct dialogs with NPCs, all the surrounding NPCs shout and talk at the same volume level as my conversation while I *try* to read the conversation options. When the NPC I'm talking to begins to talk again, other NPCs get faded out - but that still makes the first few words inaudible, so I've got to read them quickly to get the rest of what's being said.

On top of that the NPCs spam their limited lines every 2-5 seconds, driving me crazy! I'm just looking around the place and that random chat of two NPCs repeats over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and...

I tried to hit ESC or Pause or open up the mission log to get the game quiet, so I can *think* for a bit - but nothing yields the slightest moment of silence. My current and only solution is to hit MUTE on my keyboard while I'm around NPCs! :(

There must be an option to set the volume of ambient voices - even the game mechanic in dialogs (described above) can raise oder lower that volume - so where do I find it? Am I blind, or maybe hidden in some .ini or .xml? Please advise...

I don't know of a way to set that separately. There is a QuietDayOnTheMarket mod, though.

Moving the screen focus away from NPCs would also help, if you are just doing something in your inventory, etc, and don't need to interact with the environment.

Oh, hai. Since you're already here and wearing that fancy tag - is there any way I could convince you to patch it in? What would it take to split the voices volume option into conversation and ambient?

Pizza maybe? Coffee? =)

We could create a kickstarter project... ;D

But thanks alot for the link. What a relief! Altho now it it seems to be the other extreme - no ambient chat like at all..? Still better than the massive spam I had before - I just hope not to miss out on useful intel now.

Something like 20% of the frequency at 50% volume would be great.

Yup... thanks. So, one pizza for the volume control and how much coffee exactly for the frequency slider? ;)
