husemadk: I'm having difficulties with the overhead camera becoming un-fixed off my character. I can then scroll around the world by moving my mouse to the edges of the screen. The only problem is that when I transition areas the camera does not transition with me and I have way to see what my character was doing. I'm running a windows 7 machine that I installed the game as administrator and am running in windows XP compatibility mode. Its happened once before and I had to re-intstall the game to fix it. Don't know if I'm just missing some basic controls that weren't in the key binding options or if something else is messed up. Thanks for your assistance.
This can happen if you have the Caps Lock on. If it is, turn it off and it should return to normal. If it doesn't, hold the SHIFT key and move the mouse to the edge of the screen which should scroll the screen away from your character, release the SHIFT key and it should jump back to your character, most likely it it the Cap Lock key
On the start up screen, look at the lower right corner of the screen and make certain you are running V1.005A. What you describe also happened in the unpatched version of DD. If you are not running the patched version, go to your account and redownload the setup.exe for DD.
Make a backup of your saves, uninstall DD, delete any folders under Program Files\GOG.com\Divine Divinity.
Right click the setup.exe, click "Run as an administrator" in the resulting dialog. After installing, right click the game shortcut, click Properties, click the Compatibility tab and check "Run this program as an administrator". You should check this even if you are running the latest patch. After reinstalling, move your saves back into the new install.
Most likely it is the Cap Lock key is on . . .=)
