There is an indication for a teleporter in the farmlands area marked on the magic map but, as far as I can tell, it doesn't exist? It's really hard co-ordinating the two maps (map of teleporter locations and large regular map) though but there are no blacked out areas on my big maps and I've moved as many items as I thought could be it. Does it actually exist?

Also, the orcs on the first map are pretty much history. I found a key their former leader dropped when he turned to mush and it opened a chest in his tent. Several more chests there and that key didn't open the others as I had hoped. I suspect that orc teleporter scroll is in one of them and my mage character only has lock pick one (thanks to a ring) - are there other keys to open these suckers?

The dark cave: well, the boy didn't make it. I tried morphing into a frog to get past the fence type door but, well, that apparently wasn't a way to do things in this game (worth a try, though :) ). Is there a key somewhere so I can let the count know what I think of his draining little kids?

I wanted to try to stay pure mage but I may have to learn lock picking unless I can find another piece of armor somewhere to get to lock picking level 2 (which I assume would open most doors, chests, etc).

Look in the farmer's field to the north west of the Blue Boar Inn, south east corner.

In the orc chief's tent, the key he dropped will open a chest on the west side, which contains a key...
Alternately, level 3 Lockpick will open the 4 chests.

You need to agree to the vampire's deal to save the boy (1-4 stat points lost, most commonly 3; there are lots of bonuses to make up for that).
Lockpick level 2 will open the door, or Telekinesis level 2 will reach a lever past the door to open it.

Joining the thieves guild in Verdistis will let you learn 2 levels of Lockpick (one as a choice of rewards when when you join, the other for something inside). You need level 1 Lockpick and Pickpocket to join, so while keeping an eye out for another Lockpick bonus, 2 Pickpocket bonuses would be handy, as well (level 2 required for a non-violent solution for a different quest, though it is more of an exploit).

After all the non-successful searching, I came out the backdoor of the inn (elf healer room) and there it was. Area wasn't blacked out so I must have just plane missed it.

I opened a single chest in there; must have been the one. Probably missed the key (sometimes they're tight in a corner)

I was debating whether or not I was going to join the thieves guild - my character is on the honest side and it seemed out of place. Well, maybe I'll just consider myself undercover. I'm a member of the merchants' guild and I'm not a merchant so, why not?

EDIT: I bolded my replies but they really don't stand out. How dou you get color in your replies? I'm guessing it's a fringe benefit of being a developer.

Yes, it is automatic for accounts marked as developer.
