D:OS works but can't be updated from 2.1.0.3 to 2.2.0.4 due to "incorrect version" files as described in patch_log below. Is there any other way to solve it than reinstalling the game?

As mentioned by Thiev in the other thread the previous patcher was rushed and had some errors.

You could try reinstalling the game and then apply the new patch (patch_divinity_original_sin_2.2.0.4.exe), which brings the game to version 1.0.51.
Or re-download the whole game (GOG version 2.2.0.4) which already contain the latest version.

I really think they should reconsider the way they number their versions for new games. It's a surefire way to lead to confusion.

yes its bad looking up two versions-numbers.
GOG-Version and Game-Version.

And please GOG.com put the version of the game in the installer too.
Why not "Windows installer 2.2.0. (10.51)" ?
Should be not a real big thing or? Would make things easier.
