Hi,
Yesterday my brother installed the game (bought on GOG) and the two patches currently available (1.0.57 and 1.0.57 to 1.0.67). Usually the game's version number can be found under the main menu. In his game, however, this number is missing, there's only "v". He tried re-installing the game, which didn't help.

Any ideas what could be the reason behind this?

Janusushi: this number is missing, there's only "v".
Someone else had that problem, copying the install folder to another computer (multiple methods).

Does your brother have anti-aliasing forced in his video drivers? That can cause issues with missing text characters, though I don't know if that would effect the version number sent to the other computer when trying to connect.

Please ask your brother to email supportdos@larian.com, with a description of the problem and the report.zip file generated by the D:OS support tool (for the PC version). The report will contain system and game information, any crash dumps, and saved games (which are not relevant in this case, so can be deleted from the zip to reduce file size).
Thank you, I will forward it to my brother.
I'm not sure I understand the part about copying the install folder to another computer. Was that the source of the problem or the solution? My brother only installed the game on one computer (laptop). Besides the missing version number, the game runs fine in single-player mode.

Someone with the Steam version tried copying the install folder to another computer, so they wouldn't have to redownload it (and they didn't have Steam installed on their other computer). I don't think the copy itself was the problem, though, since they did so multiple times, and it would be unlikely to get the same copy error repeated. If they ever found a fix for the problem, they didn't post back about it.
After downloading the new patches and re-installing the game in a different folder (Program Files instead of GOG games) the game version is now visible.

(Sorry for writing on behalf of my brother, he's too shy to write in English:).
Thanks for the update.
