I'm looking for a mod that would let me zoom out the camera 20-50% further than the game allows. As it is, the game feels so claustrophobic that I simply cannot play it. There were mods that worked with the classic version of the game, but I didn't manage to make any of them work in the enhanced version. If anyone knows a solution, please share!
Better Camera + Hide HUD for D:OS EE

EDIT: only works with the pre-Galaxy update of game version 2.0.119.430.

Hi,
"Better camera" is a mod for steam version and won't work on GOG version. Changing camera behaviour can be done only by hexediting which means that every new version needs a new mod.

I am using this mod myself: It is compatible with GOG version v2.0.119.430. Most likely it won't work with any other game version.
If you want to use it, you have to run the game first, then alt+tab and run this mod.

Ingame you can change max camera zoom by Insert/Delete to increase or decrease.
If you want to also change camera tilt you can use Home and then PgUp/PgDown to tilt camera forward/backward
Hi Mroz,
Many thanks for the link. I have the game version you mentioned and I managed to run the mod, but it doesn't seem to make any difference in terms of camera zoom. I can zoom in and out within the same range as usual... I've tried all of the hotkeys (pg up and down, del, insert, home...), none did what I wanted. Am I doing something wrong?

RazeLarian - I've tried it before, doesn't work with GOG version...

That's weird, did you run it after the game was already running?

If you are familiar with Cheat Engine, I can tell you how to change it with it.

Hi,
Yes, I run the file when Divinity was already running (and a game loaded). Pressing pg up and down, delete and insert did change the camera zoom or tilt, but - as I mentioned earlier - within the same range as the game normally allows.

I have Cheat Engine 6.7 64-bit installed. I can't say I'm very familiar with it, but I managed to use it for another mod (EoCApp). I'd be very grateful for any tips!
Open Cheat engine, select process EoCApp.exe

Search for Hex 8bytes value 4198000040b00000

It will find 1 address, right click it and select "Find out what accesses this address" (see image 1)

Then look at results and find something like [rcx+0000017C] and copy the value in said register. (image 2)

Now search for this coppied value in new search as Hex 8bytes value, it shoud find 1 record with green address.
Now click add Address manualy and fill it out like on image 3. It should show value = 19. Thats max zoom - if you increase this value it will allow you to zoom further.

(If you send me that green address I can change that mod to work with your game)

Hi,
You're so helpful. Many thanks.

I almost managed to make it work, I'm just not sure how to increase the last value of 19. I can only change the 17c value and I have no idea what it means :)

My green address is 7FF696F0BB40.

PS Just to clarify, the mod I'm using is EoCApp.CT, not .exe. I load the table, then select process: Divinity game. But it seems to work the same way you described.
If you click ok in the last step it will add it into your table in the bottom and then you can change it by double clicking in the value.

I also changed the mod to use your base address so you can try that too:
Hip hip hurra, it worked! Thanks for help and all the time and effort it took :)

Cheers
No problem

cheers
Hi again,
I tried running the game with the mod today, and it didn't work again. I repeated the procedure you described and noticed that the "green" address had changed to 7FF7305BBB40. Does it change each time I open the game? I didn't update the game, it's the same version...
Hello, thought it might happen since the same thing happened to me too.

Would you try this version? If I understood it correctly it should work for you too, since it should calculate base address even if it changes.
Hi, sorry for a late reply. It does work, but I find the controls difficult to use. When I follow the steps you described earlier in CheatEngine, the controls remain the same as in the original game, I can simply zoom out further. With the program you linked in the last post, the camera vertical tilt usually gets crazy (e.g. below-ground or above, but nearly vertical). Moreover, I the mouse wheel stops working, so it's difficult to zoom in and out. Still, the manual way works perfectly, so I'll stick to that for the time being :) Thanks again.

You are the best!! Saves my day. Works on current EE Version of GOG DOS1 like a charm.
