I have a gaming PC and a laptop with select games on it for travel, or staying out of town. I've sucessfully installed Divinity on my Gaming computer without hitch, but on my laptop every time I try to install I get a message stating that all three .bins are corrupt/damaged.

Before you start stating what I should do.

I have downloaded through my browser - without success
I have downloaded through the GoG downloader - without success
I set concurrent downloads to 1 - without success
I have tried mixing and matching files from known 'good' downloads to replace the ones that are damaged - without success
I have transferred the 'good' files from my gaming computer to my laptop. - without success
I have tried downloading with two different internet connections - without success
I have run the setup as administrator - without success
I have installed from a portable harddrive -without success
I have tried streaming the installer from my gaming computer - without success
Anti-virus has been disabled this entire time.

The Hash/checksum of the files matches on the laptop's 3 .bin files, showing that they are indeed intact and not damaged. Same with the setup file.

This is a fresh install of Windows, replacing a 2 week old install of Windows.

All drivers are also up to date. Windows is completely up to date. Direct X 11.1 is installed with sp1. Other things like .net have been installed. Pretty much everything you'd expect to have installed for games and general computer use.

I have checked the harddrive for errors, Everything is in the green.

When I skip integrity check, the game installs and roughly halfway through spews out an error.

Unable to execute file:
C:\Users\NMHP\AppData\Local\Temp\is-50T6M.tmp\vcredist_x86_2008.exe

ShellExecuteEx failed; code2.
The system cannot find the file specified

I also get one for directx_Jun2010_redist.exe, DXSETUP.exe

It then finishes installing, but it is missing like 70% of the games files.

I have no idea whats going on here, was wondering if anyone could help? I can provide Dxdiag, if one were to point me to a clean upload site. I don't see anything out of the ordinary in it though.

akedomo: on my laptop every time I try to install I get a message stating that all three .bins are corrupt/damaged.
Have you tested the RAM on your laptop? (Windows Memory Diagnostic, or Memtest86)

Did you try just copying the install folder from the desktop to the laptop? Copy/zip from the desktop to the portable hard drive, and then copy/extract to the laptop.
You would have to make sure DirectX 9c, DotNet 3.5 and the 2008 VC redistributables are installed yourself, since the GOG installer isn't doing so.

You could try the launcher and see if that will fix any missing files as well as update the game.
Here are a few things to try:

1. Copy install files to C:\ and then run the installer (permission issues on new windows)
2. Download vcredist_x86_2008.exe and directx_Jun2010_redist.exe, DXSETUP.exe and install them separately before launching the game installer (installer issues)
3. open up a dos prompt and type in
chkdsk c:\ /f /x
reboot if necessary and allow the check to run (disk issues)

I had done a memory test about 3 weeks ago and it was fine, didn't even cross my mind again. I redid it last night though.

Memtest86+ had 597,034 errors on one of the sticks. As soon as i removed it it installed.

Must have had a power surge or static shock. Or maybe the stick just failed, who knows i'll be sending it in for a warranty now though.
