I just installed the game and when I try to launch it, UAC asks me if I want to let EoCApp.exe (publisher unknown) to make changes to my computer. What the heck is this EoCApp.exe thing and why is it on my computer?! "C:\GOG Games\Divinity - Original Sin\Shipping\EoCApp.exe" is the filepath or whatever it's called. Could this be a problem with the installation files? I didn't get any problem notifications while downloading or installing.
What you see it's normal. EoCApp.exe is the name of the game's executable. It is indeed odd and I have no idea why they picked that.

Here's some checksums from my own installation for piece of mind:

CRC-32: 273c59a4
MD4: ca31005af63e252018342a366aa7803c

Way back when, D:OS, as 'Project E', was going to be called 'Eyes of a Child' (the 'E' in Project E came from there), and it seems the executable name stuck.

Hey, thanks for confirming that! I was suspecting something like that would be the reason, but I had completely forgotten the 'Project E' title they used when they first announced it.

Sorry I guess Im a novice to this. How exactly do I fix this problem. I have the same issue but cant quite figure out how to fix it
You get such UAC messages because you've installed the game to the C:\ (Windows operating system) Hard Drive / partition.

For very many reasons you should avoid installing games to the system drive (normally C:\ ), that should also avoid the UAC warning. If possible you should make a habit of installing games into a certain location, such as D:\Games\etc, preferably even a separate HDD, or part of one, to games.

You could also set the UAC warning/monitoring to lower or disabled. Though it could be argued that the system will be less secure as a result as it won't ask you when something tries to alter the system, though it's not as if UAC is foolproof to begin with.
