So do I need an Nvidia card to play this game at all?

Because I have ATI and that would suck the biggest of cocks.

No. PhysX will (should) work fine on an ATI card, it just doesn't do hardware acceleration (though I don't think the game uses any hardware acceleration even on Nvidia cards).

Try installing the version of PhysX in the '..\Divinity II - Developers Cut\Support\PhysX' folder, or the latest version from Nvidia's website.

Game won't start
That is another problem, I do not have a Support folder in the location you described.

Also to add to that whenever I try to install physx the installer poops out and says I already have it installed and then errors and then closes.

GOG may not have included it in the install (I have the retail version of the Divinity Anthology, so didn't download the GOG version of Divinity 2).

Try the fix in the Steam discussion link above, or uninstall PhysX, do a clean reinstall of Divinity 2 (uninstall, reboot, shut down all non-essential programs, reinstall) start the game, and if that gets it to work, install the latest version of PhysX (another game would need a later version).
thank you for help friend, i had to do a windows driver cleaner and remove physx, and then reinstall phyx andit worked!1

now i can play thi game, bless you@
