Hi there,
Divine Divinity works fine on my w7 64 but i want to be able to play it in windowed mode. I've read in a previous topic that the game works using vmware player + windows xp using the old configurator tool to switch from direct3d to directdraw. I've tried it and i can play but i have problems when exiting the game or playing the intro.
The problem is that the game freezes for some seconds if i'm lucky but most of the time it just hangs (but i can still hear the music) and i cannot return to windows without rebooting the virtual machine. The problem also appears in the old config tool when testing, the logo appears and then it freezes for some seconds until the computer becomes responsive again.
The problem is gone by disabling directdraw/direct3d by going to windows screen properties / settings / advanced / Troubleshoot and setting the Hardware acceleration to Disable all DirectDraw and Direct3D accelerations but doing so makes the cursor and the game in general to run really badly.
I remember there was a video posted in youtube to make the game work under vmware but the video got deleted. Am i missing something?
this is the topic i'm talking about: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/divine_divinity_series/i_got_it_working_on_vmware_player_xp_guest_os
