Hi,
I managed to get this game running in 800x600 (I think), software mode. I played this game a lot and got really far.
Then I bought Beyond Divinity, played it a little bit (1024x768).
Now I wanted to play Divine Divinity again, tried Full HD resolution, worked after unplugging my 3rd monitor => but everything is super small.
Then I switched back to 800x600 and now all I get is the app switching between resolutions. I hear the Intro sound and menu music.
Everytime I try to switch to the app, my screen flickers (trying to set the resolution) and gets back to my desktop with a small window of the game in the upper left corner (static image).
I tried resetting everything using the config tool. Different resolutions ... nothing ...
EDIT:
Okay, restarted my computer and it worked. I also figured out, that when I have a folder open in Windows 10, I get the same issues. Super weird, but my guess is, that Windows tries to reposition the open explorer window onto another monitor and this messes up setting the screen resolution or something like that ...
