I am playing the GOG version of the first game in the Divinity series, "Divine Divinity". I am towards the end, assembling the Council of Seven.

I've assembled six members of the Seven, lastly finding the Dwarf council member.

I've talked to Gregor Dunatrim (the drunken Dwarf Mayor of the Dwarven Village, and Dwarf King's brother), and the other dwarf Eolus Thunderstorm, and was given the quest to find the stolen Axe of Stone (and un-implicate that elf locked in the basement, accused of the theft and tortured with a feather lol).

I went into the lower level of the dwarven mines and fought all the "Evil Dwarves" and that wizard Moriendor, and retrieved the Axe of Stone, as well as the letter implicating the Dwarf Mayor of the theft.

I then went straight back to the Dwarven Village and spoke to Eolus, to return the Axe, and implicate the Dwarf Mayor with the letter, and free the elf.

And now, alas, the Axe and letter are no longer in my inventory. The elf locked in the basement has been replaced by the Dwarf Mayor.

I think I screwed up, and instead should've first talked to Kelp Dunatrim (the Dwarf King in the Dwarven Halls, and Dwarf Mayor's brother), while the Axe and letter were still in my inventory.

Now the Dwarf King will not talk to me about the Dragon Armor set, nor give the Dragon Helmet. I'm guessing the Axe and/or letter are needed to initiate the Dragon Armor quest when you talk to the Dwarf King?

I've been looking forward to the Dragon Armor quest, the game's ultimate loot, and getting the final piece of the set (the helmet) since I woke up in Aleroth lol. And I don't have a Save Game far enough back to when I had the Axe and letter in my inventory. :(

Is there a way to put the Axe and letter back in my inventory via a Save Game editor? Would that initiate the Dragon Armor quest with the Dwarf King at this point? Any other ideas?

Any help would be much appreciated!
