I made the mistake of talking to her with my weapon drawn. After that, I have not been able to talk to her. I've tried talking to her with my weapon drawn again, but to no avail. Even assaulted her. Didn't really help. I have no save games prior to talking to her. I do not wish to backtrack that much :(

In order for her quest to become available to me, do I need to have at least a neutral reputation with her? Currently, she is at -10 or so, because of the drawn weapon earlier. Is there a way to temporarily increase my reputation to fix it? Will the savegame editor allow modification of your reputation?

Or will it be impossible to talk to her for the rest of the game?

Thanks in advance!

Your reputation will gradually rise as you complete certain quests (though some also cause a drop - Reputation-list-spoiler).

Did you accept a quest in Verdistis to kill Maria?

The save editor can not change your reputation.

Oh, sweet. That's a relief. I do hope that's what's causing this issue. I'm still quite early into the game, and have not visted Verdistis yet :P

I've seen you help so many others here on GOG and on the Larian Studios forums. Thank you for helping me aswell!

Oh, if you don't mind me asking a few questions about the game... is Know Creature worth getting? Any ways of recovering mana besides potions, sleeping and chicken meat? Any hints as to where I can buy or find good weapons?

Raze is definitely the expert, not me, but I dislike Know Creature for all the information you see printed at the top of the screen when you face one and it really doesn't do you much good, if any, IMO.

The unidentified sword/claymore in Geoff's shop is usually a very good weapon. Click on it and express interest; it will show up in his items for sale. There are several others you'll run across in the progress of the game that you find when you've defeated one of the NPCs and one in the armorer's shop. As I recall, those you get as loot have a higher damage rating.
I also found Know Creature to be not worth the extra clutter it caused targeting opponents (playing a warrior). Some people playing mages like to get it to level 5 to see an opponent's resistances.

There are some health and mana shrines that refill for awhile, available after you have been to the castle. Though, by then you may have enough of a stockpile of restoration potions that they don't make a huge difference.

If you have not made it to Ars Magicana yet, there is a travelling merchant on the path north of the farmlands towards the cursed abbey, but you can only meet him once. If you accept the army's quests you can access their weapons cache, though I think I ended up selling everything I acquired there. You can get a decent 2 handed sword from a knight near castle Stormfist.
