Divine divinity is not Diablo. It is not "frustration free gaming".
But it has this huge world to explore and really lets you play your way. Of course, it also won't stop you from dying your way, but that is just part of the exploration of the world. It may not be as structured or streamlined as Diablo. But it offers something like freedom.
It took a while, but after spending some hours with Divine Divinity it really grew on me. And it is LONG! I spent something like fifty hours with this game and thought to be near the end, when suddenly I entered the second map that was just as vast and interesting as the first one.
Really, gotta love it!
I wouldn't call Diablo frustration free, in fact I'd say it's one of the most frustrating games I've ever played.
What makes it frustrating?

solidsmooky: What makes it frustrating?

Probably all the godforsaken clicking!! OH GAWD THE CLICKIIIIIIINNNNNG!!!!
You don't have to click constantly like a madman :)
Keep your mouse button pressed over an enemy and your character will hit it (or shoot it) until it's dead. Another tip: if you want to attack the nearest enemy, hold CONTROL and then click.
Although I must admit I haven't played Diably alot, Divine Divinity can be quite frustrating from time to time. :D
Being halfway trough a dungeon, and you run out of potions.. yea, that sucks.
Still, one of the best Action-RPGs I have ever played.

That's why you have the pyramids :)
(and is it just me or is there a Belgian influx? Entirely offtopic of course ;-) )

Haha, possibly ;D
One of the reasons that I like this game so much is because it's made in Belgium. :)

Would you say that Divine Divinity is the Belgian version of The Witcher ??

I'm sorry, I can't reply to that. I haven't played 'The Witcher' yet. :/

Would you say that Divine Divinity is the Belgian version of The Witcher ??

No - more like the Belgian cross breed of Ultima, Diablo, and maybe some TQ thrown in (Inventory arrangment is just like Ultima, with freeform bags and weight limits)
I can't believe I can't get to decide which RPG I love more: DD or The Witcher, and they're so different!
The Witcher and Divine Divinity are too different for me to say who is the best. But i definitly think it's much better than Diablo. Diablo is just too limited..
