Hello everyone, it is the first time I'm posting here and I really hope one of you guys can help me.

Two days ago, a friend asked me to join him playing D:OS, I checked what this game was about, and found it fine.

Yesterday, I bought the game from GOG.com, and after finishing the installation, tried to join my friend's game with the direct connection thing (he is on steam), nothing happened (I had a beach with the sea and some palm trees as screen). He tried to join me, and when he was on loading screen, I instantly crashed (and so did he).

We tried everything from shutting down firewalls to manually open ports, still does not work.

Is it because he is on Steam and I am on GOG galaxy thing ?

Is it because I have the D:OS enhanced edition and he possesses the D:OS Classic edition ?

I would be very grateful if one of you could help me, thanks for reading.

You both need to be using the same version to play co-op. Your friend also has the EE (it was a free, automatic update to everyone who had the original release), but if he can not run that version (due to the increase in system requirements, for example), you would need to switch to Classic. The original release isn't automatically included with the EE, as it is on Steam, but there is a link in the library entry for the EE to contact GOG support and request D:OS Classic also be added to your library.

You can have both versions of the game installed at the same time, and play either; saves and configuration files are stored in different locations, so they will not interfere with each other.
