DD is a nice mix between proper RPGs like Baldur's Gate, Fallout, etc. and hack & slashers like Diablo.
Despite the first dungeon, which is a bit too long and too hack & slashy, this game has much to offer to anyone who likes RPGs.
Once you get past that first bit, the world opens up and the level of story and gameplay goes up a few notches. From that point on, it is a fresh and fun experience in the middle between hardcore RPG and hack & slash.
