Hey,
When the game first came out my game group got really frustrated that everyone needed to repatch every session (which was causing all kinds of problems and delays)... super stupid. So we disabled automatic updates.
Now a long time has passed and we want to increment the version slightly for some specific upgrades without breaking mods and such. Currently we are on version 3.0.143.324 and we want to upgrade to 3.0.146.814. Of course GOG no longer keeps patches, but a helpful thread here had them all so I downloaded them.
Then the problem occurred, something went wrong with one of the patches. I happen to have a backup copy of our official play version, so no problem I deleted the broken one and copied the working one. I then tried to repatch and the installer immediately told me my version was more recent. I have to assume it is just checking some magic version number somewhere in the registry. Anyway now I can't update to the new version.
How can I manually apply a patch from the patcher files? Or does anyone know what registry entry to change so that it will actually install the patches?
I have tried unpacking the patches with an inno setup extractor. But I can't make sense of how to run them, it looks the the script interpreter might need to be called with special args?
Random: As proof of ownership so no one thinks I'm trying to update a pirated copy of the game I've attached a screenshot.
