When I use Steam version there is not problem to minimize the game. However on GOG version through Galaxy game crashes all the time.

I just press alt + Tab and do something else... because well GM mode sometimes needs text from other source. On GOG it is not the case because it becomes a russian roulette if game crashes or not.

However because of those crashes cloud saves seems to be broken so I had to restart each time the whole platform.

Try disabling the overlay (in Galaxy select the game, click the settings icon at the top right (beside the Play button) and under Manage Installation select 'Configure...' and scroll down a bit to the Features section).

In the game try switching to fake fullscreen or windowed display mode.

I have GoG version, and never had such problem
