It seems impossible to win this scenario, if the capitol has to be captured. I am referring to the second chapter playing as Empire. Am I missing something? Is there another way towin without capturing the capitol? thanks.....fun game, but I am stuck....

I don't hink that is your objective at all.
Can't remember but isnt it to capture some neutral city? What does it say when you click on the objective?

The only time i finished by killing the capitol was in the last empire mission because i was bored with the real objective.

I do not think there was any campaign with the objective to capture a capitol in Disciples 2. Definitely not one of the earlier campaigns - the earliest I have managed to kill a capitol was with 8th level human wizard, a prophetess and paladins at the front line, and these are simply not available on the second mission
But he is playing D1.

He needs to take either the city on the northern or on the southern corner, can't remember much details about mission 2 and 3.
The city is clearly marked with blue magic circle.
As has been mentioned there's no need to capture the capital. In Disciples 1 capturing a capital is quite difficult, and there isn't a single mission in any of the campaigns where it's required. In Disciples 2 there's a single mission where you're required to capture a capital (if memory serves it's the final Clans mission), but in that one they actually had to toss in a beefed up, scripted enemy just before the capital because by that point in the campaign your army is so powerful that capturing a capital is pretty easy.
thanks for the input. The objective is to capture the "ruined tower", which I think I have done. But it is probably something simple I am overlooking, an unexplored area of the map, or something......I will get back to this game, if I can tear myself away from Age of Wonders!

I don't think that you have captured the objective yet, you would definately know. The tower is highlighted with a blue crosshair like circle beneath it. The second you take the tower the scenario ends. I just finished that level actually and I am being overwhelmed on the third map by demons.
