I've set the compatibility mode to Windows 2000 so the game runs fine. But after playing every few turns say 3-5 turns, the game CTDs everytime. Is there a setting to prevent the CTDs?
This question / problem has been solved by cw8image
Could you please post a bit of information on what computer your trying to run it on and what Operating system?
- Intel Quad Q6600 2.40Ghz
- 4Gig Ram
- 1 TB Harddisk
- Nvidia 8800GT
- WinXP Home SP 3
You could try setting the game to run on a single core. Just load it up and then once in game bring up task manager and go to the processes tab, then find the disciples process and right click it. Then set affinity to core0.
Another thing is to try different settings with sound hardware acceleration. To do this go to your start menu and run, then type dxdiag and run that. Go to the sound tab and change the slider on the hardware acceleration try the different settings to see if it makes a difference.

Thanks but still no luck in preventing the CTDs. I'll try to find a way out of it.
I set the compatibility mode to Win 98 instead of Win 2000 and the CTDs stopped.

Good to hear you figured it out and got the game running.
