Hi guys. I just bought the game today. I installed it. Everything went well until a message in French popped out.

I'm not sure what it says but I guessed I know what it meant.

The message:

"Veuillez inserer le CD de jeu original dans votre lecteur CD-ROM."

I went through the forums & found a couple posts related to my current problem. However, I followed the help provided there, it didn't work for me.

I tried to edit the Config file in the EXE Folder, untick "Play Introduction" & save but it just wouldn't save. I also edited the Disciples Configuration Settings, change the value of "Play intro at startup" to 0 & save, same thing happened. It just wouldn't let me save. When I tried to replace, it says "ACCESS DENIED."

What should I do?

You can check several things:
- If you installed the game in "Program Files" reinstall it elsewhere and as a general rule try to avoid installing GOG games in Program Files
- Before installing the game right click on the setup file and add administrative rights to it
- Try to change the config file after that

You're probably using a computer without cd drive, simply use any software (like Daemon tools Lite) to create a virtual CD drive then open the config.exe under ~\Disciples Gold\Exe\ and select the cd-rom drive(this step might not be necessary, i'm not sure...) and voilà.

necroposting but i'll like to ask if using Elaboratebyte's Virtual Clone Drive would work as well? i have harddisks in C: and D:, but the program automatically chooses to create a faux CD drive in F: instead of E: . so i take it that the config.exe in the Disciples game folder should fix that problem?

EDIT: nevermind. realised i should change it in the control panel > disk management, for win7
