Edit: This is Disciples 2 + expansions I am referring to.

Just curious if anyone has ideas on this. I have played several of the campaigns (all undead campaigns, all elf campaigns, now partway through the original Legions campaign). One of the things I like to do as an extra challenge in each mission is to destroy all enemy capitals.

One thing I noticed while doing this, however, is some wonkiness with the unit accuracy numbers. Whenever I attacked an enemy capital with either a Shade or Incubus unit in tow, they would hit the enemy guardian unit 100% of the time. However, other units, such as Deaths or Beasts, with 80% stated accuracy, would still miss occasionally.

Moreover, putting the capital battles aside, my Lich Queen and Dryad heroes both had an accuracy of "89% + 11%" by their final missions, which appears to be 100%. Yet they would still miss an enemy or two about once every three combat rounds. This is very odd considering the "65% = 100%" and "57% = 100%" calculations above.

Even as I write this, my Tiamath is jamming her tentacles up Ashgan's butt while he gets repeatedly paralyzed by my Incubus. This battle is taking something like 50 combat rounds. Thinking about normal probability, the likelihood of Ashgan being paralyzed 50 times in a row by a 65% accuracy incubus is 0.65 * 0.65 * 0.65... up to 0.65^50, which is essentially a 0% probability. And yet every time I try it, it works--but if I try to petrify some run-of-the-mill Lizardmen, a one or two of them escape it pretty much every round. I'm thinking this is just a Pokemon-like situation and the "it's super effective!!" message just isn't spelled out.

I laughed. So hard.

I'm not sure how this works either, but I've noticed it happening predominately with units that strike all of the enemy party. I think it might use a different calculation (for example 65% chance to be petrified could mean 95% for the first unit, 85% for the second, etc with whatever that pattern making 65% the AVERAGE or whatever of that attack).

Just a thought, with no actual proof other than playing the game :)
