Why I have to always type my Windows admin passowrd when I start Diablo. I want to play games in my Windows 10 limited user account not elevated to admin rights.

Looks like it's only required for the launcher and configuration tool.

You should be able to create shortcuts to both Diablo.exe versions and run them without admin rights, as long as the account you use has read and modify rights on the folder.

Thanks for your answer. You are right. Both Diablo.exe files works without admin rights.

But I still cannot understand why DiabloLauncher.exe requires elevated rights. WHY GOG? Do not make launchers asking for elevated rights. I can understand necessity of elevated rights for installer or updater but never ever for a game launcher.

Nice - thank you!
By default the game installs to C:/GOG Games/Diablo so if you have Win Vista - 10 it will always require admin access. If you don't want to see this request then uninstall the game, and reinstall the game to C:/Users/[User Name]/Games, or have it installed to a drive that doesn't require admin access.
