Hello All,

Is there anyway to transfer save game files between single and multiplayer? I have a character who I started on multiplayer with some buddies, but now I would like to use that character in single player. Is that at all possible?
This is not supported in game. Some cheat tools can import and export characters, including across the singleplayer/multiplayer divide. However, you may not want to do this. Single player characters always start with all levels populated with monsters, and without the ability to jump directly into deeper levels, so you will need to fight through the early levels, but your imported character is probably too advanced for those levels to yield competitive items or decent experience.

However, if you just want to be able to play the character when your friends are not around, that is easy. Start a multiplayer game, choose that character, and go. The game does not require anyone else to join before you enter the dungeon.

Thank you for the information. I will launch the multiplayer game without my friends being present. The only other reason I wanted to migrate characters was to obtain certain unique items that are not available in multiplayer. Are there cheat tools that can import those items (for example, The Butcher's Cleaver)
I assume the cheat tools could bring them across, but they may morph to other items in some cases. Also, most of the quest unique items aren't that good compared to what you could acquire through random drops replaying the deep levels (13-16) on normal difficulty. In the case of the Butcher's Cleaver, its statistics are:

- Axe
- +10 strength
- Unusual item damage (4-24)
- Altered durability (10)

A large axe or better would give you a higher minimum, and a battle axe or better would give you both higher minimum and higher maximum. Regardless, it would still be an axe, and axes are a terrible weapon choice in Diablo (unless you're trying to make the game harder) because they have a long swing animation, and prevent you using a shield. Any non-unique axe at all would give you better durability. The +10 strength is nice for a starting character, but I would rather wield a non-magical sword than use the Butcher's Cleaver.
