Like the title says, whenever I go to launch Hellfire via the launcher, no matter what I have set my video settings to in the launcher, it will ALWAYS launch in fullscreen, with no filtering, at the minimum resolution, stretched to fit my display. I don't know if it's just me that has this issue, but it definitely seems like a bug or an oversight.

UPDATE: I figured out the issue.

The way the filesystem is set up for the GOG release, they have the Hellfire expansion in a separate folder, and in order to get the video settings to transfer between the regular client and the Hellfire client, they've created a symlink in the Hellfire folder to the dxcfg.ini file in the normal Diablo folder. However, that symlink is totally broken; when trying to open it, it spits out an error saying "The name of the file could not be read" or somesuch. I was able to get around the issue by deleting the symlink and just copying over the file itself.
It's also not opening just the like original game wouldn't when it was first releaed. Even tried adding it again to the DEP exceptions and no-go.

Can you elaborate on this? What is the name of the symlink file, or am I reading this wrong?

Thanks!
I have this issue as well.
You might message Support.

The name of the file is "dxcfg.ini", but when I try to open the symlink it gives me an error saying something about the name of the file. I'm not sure what the error actually was; I didn't think to write it down.

I did not have this issue with it. It's opening just fine for me. Try disabling DEP entirely.

UPDATE: New build was just released. It seems to have fixed the issue, along with updating the video settings interface to the same one used by Warcraft II on GOG.
The issue have now been patched and resolved, thanks GoG. :)
