Why no weapon sounds from the digital installation?

The weapon sounds are present when the game is started with the original Dethkarz.exe from the original game CD with CD query. There are no weapon sounds with a NoCD either. I have the original game CD and have tested it. This Dethkarz.exe must be replaced with the Dethkarz.exe in the digital copy. The game then only starts with the game CD inserted.
On the game CD there is a folder called "Data". This contains the Dethkarz.exe. The game does not have to be installed using the game CD. This only works with Win XP or Win 7.
