Has anyone tried DOSBOX based games with Win7? I have Win7 Ultimate x64 (and an older nVidia 7600GT) and am having trouble starting Descent.
It comes up with the graphics garbled (displays the "Interplay" logo and goes downhill from there), and the opening music is choppy. I can get through the new pilot dialog but I have no usable display when I get to the controller menu.
I have selected the Windows compatibility settings: XP SP3, no themes and no DPI scaling.
Any settings?

try killing explorer.exe before starting dosbox. See if that helps with the problem

Thanks but nope, can't kill explorer without it respawning and when I do the ctrl-click on the start menu to exit explorer and run from a command prompt, DOSBOX starts and dies.
I'll keep digging, I'm not in a hurry.

Setting the graphics mode to OpenGL seemed to fix it. Thanks.
