What is the name of the file that saves my progress for Descent 1? I will be switching computers and don't want to lose my progress, so I am hoping I can just transfer the file over. Thanks.

In the descent folder you will need to backup the .plr file it will be called whatever you called yourself in descent .PLR. You will also need to backup any .SG# files as these are your actual saves also found in the descent folder. So it will be like .SG1, .SG2 and so on.

Thanks for the reply. I found that answer using google too, except I can't find those files anywhere in my descent folder, the outer folder holding descent, or the DOSBOX folder. I searched my entire computer for files with those extensions and couldn't find anything. None of the files have my pilot's name in them either ("Marc"). Hmmm.

No problem, using XP myself so they were in the descent folder for me, that virtual store folder is always a good one to check when saves are missing on vista for most games.
