I dont see any spell stats increasing.. what does that boost does? HP doesnt become bigger aswell..

If you are talking about the last fight, then each boost on Azra removes the damage immunity from one of the boss's hp bars. You'll need max boost on Azra to be able to defeat him.
I believe that in any level where you are working with another caster (someone besides your party members), it also increases the variety of spells they can use.
