Hey all, I just sent my GOG contacts the latest version of the game.

Here's what's new, with a full changelog at the bottom:

-In-game achievement interface for both mac/windows builds.
-Lots of bug-fixes in general
-Lots of bug-fixes for mod support
-Added localization interface. Fans can now supply their own translations. About 95% of the text is currently exposed to localization, we're working on this and the next patch should have full support.
-We've got an official German translation, as well as volunteer Czech, Polish, Portuguese, and Koregan translations, in the works. None of these are ready yet so the the public 1.0.64 build only has English, though we're making good progress.

This build has been tested and seems to be working properly, I've double-checked that the default config settings will be opting out of data tracking if no config file is found (ie first install) and the auto-updater, as usual, just directs to the GOG page. If anyone sees anything contrary to this, please notify me immediately so I can fix it. If you find you are opted in to data tracking it might be because you're carrying over an old config file from before we explicitly made things opt-out. Sorry about this.

I don't have an update for the browser demo, but that's lower priority I expect and I'll get to it in the following weeks.

Yaaay, thanks for update! :)

I've got the question about these new "translator-option" - how does it looks like in case of some specific letters? In Poland we've some specific letters, like "ę", "ć" etc. Will there be possibility to use these letters? Defender's Quest is too good game to not be translated and I would like to try (as soon as GOG will upload the new version for users).
I have specifically added support for those letters. Make sure you set the text-encoding scheme for your localization files as UTF-8 and you should be fine.

As of right now, we have support for all "extended latin" character sets which should cover pretty much anything that uses a Roman or Roman-ish alphabet, I've also explicitly added support for Cyrillic (Russian/Ukrainian/) letters.

The central European characters seem to work - specifically those used in Polish and Czech. I haven't tested Cyrillic but it probably works in theory.

In the next patch I will try to add asian character support but that might be kind of insane.

Sounds great :) Firstly, I would like to try to translate a small portion of text (for example from two or three levels) to know, if I would handle this. If my "private trial" will end with success, I will contact with another DQ-fans from Poland, who would like to translate this game :)

Oh, c'mon GOG, upload this for us, c'mon, c'mon! :)

Houston, we've got problem :P

I've read the thread from your link, but I still don't know, what I'm doing wrong. What I made:

1.In folder "locales" I've created the folder "pl-PL". I've copied everything from "en-US" and pasted it into the "pl-PL".
2.I don't know excactly, what should I change in "index.xml". I'm editing it with notepad. I see that there is some part especially for polish localisation:

Should I "replace" the sort number (for Poland set it for "1" and for GB set it on "8")? Whatever I am making, the game doesn't show me the new "language" option, or it just doesn't loading (there is only the black screen and "loading" title, but nothing more). I see that there is already the polish flag in the "_flags" folder. What Am I doing wrong?
