hollunder: Linux upload to GOG is cumbersome and there are only about 10 people using it, so it's a money loser.
One developer that I contacted about the missing Linux version on GOG told me that the upload API for Linux is already in place.

Right, I heard a couple months ago that something changed but everyone I talked to so far was vague enough that I don't know what exactly. I think it may no longer be the FTP+email method used previously but somehow still different/worse than for Windows/OSX. At the very least there are no delta updates/patches and of course no Galaxy client.

thats a weird one and kinda sounds like drm to me. I mean - you can just provide some base64-encoded text file, for which game will look in order to decide if you've purchased dlc or not. There is no point to involve storefront's api, especially since galaxy is optional (and thus there is no way to link content's ownership with user's account)

Exactly. That's what I meant in post 12 above.

It is like the "Armello DRM-free Edition" 2.0, only this time instead of outright ripping its version of any DLCs due to DRM GOG decided to silently allow DRM checks on Windows and Mac via its own "Galaxy API".

I wonder, how mant time would it take for local Windows DRM-free adepts out here to actually notice this DRM?

Are you sure that there really are any checks that silently require Galaxy? Maybe it's a big misunderstanding.

No.

As I myself have no means to check it out: I do not own the game and we all do not have "GOG Galaxy" available to us. That's why a Windows™ user should check (try to launch without network) the game.

So far we have only an explanation on Reddit AMA from a developer (publisher?) "Evil Empire".

Galaxy may work to a limited degree in WINE.
It seems they just released the DLC on Linux ! Testing right now.

1.7.5 is available and works.
Thanks Motion Twin peeps for letting the ten of us play the DLC as well.

kinda dumb question, but just to be sure - do dlcs work offline? I mean - there were concerns above regarding ownership verification that apparently involve some galaxy shenanigans

The Linux version definitely works without Galaxy as that is not available for Linux. I did not disconnect the network but I assume it works offline since all online features, like daily challenge, leaderboard or Twitch integration are disabled anyway.
