So, prior to buying the DLC I had found the corpse with the key and the costume, but I wouldn't be able to enter the DLC area (obviously). But after buying and installing the DLC, the corpse is gone and I can't get the key, and even the other new area doesn't appear on the other biomes. I've tried again and again and can't seem to find what's going on.

Do you play on Steam, Switch or GoG ?

GoG: ??? No idea.
Steam: Did you actually make sure you have the DLC enabled in the DLC panel, and do you have your game on the right version? (Check game properties.)
Switch: Is it on patch 1.7+ ?
