DS1 causes my computer to reboot. One second I'm at the opening screen next second I'm watching my computer boot up.

Try updating your drivers and DirectX. By the way, what OS do you use?

I have updated my Drivers. I believe DirectX is also latest. I'm using XP.

Still, try updating it. You can download the whole package from here.

About that automatic reboot on error in Windows XP,
there's a setting you can change to keep the computer from rebooting with each fatal error.
- Right-click 'My Computer', and then click Properties.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings to open the Startup and Recovery dialog box.
- Untick the 'Automatically Restart' check box, and click OK
- Restart your computer so that the new settings take effect.

Maybe this way you'll get an error log or an error message with info that will allow you to troubleshoot the problem.
