you do know this site is 'Good Old Games' Dahmer666? Have you maybe tried an early Zork adventure game before? Games can be many things and 'graphics' are not really that important, although you can used to expecting them to be so. Such is the problem with modern gaming imho.

Personally i find the art in Darklands to be really evocative and the text is often really well written and adds to the game. It's a game of it's time and era, and if you can get past modern day expectations(some just can't), you will be rewarded with a really complex and involving rpg experience. But yeah always keep in mind this is GOG, Good Old Games, and lush graphics was not always the focus of game design.

Get off your three-legged high horse and quit assuming.

First of all, I love the game. Secondly, I love the artwork and the writing. I'm simply saying that the same old text menus that you read each time you visit a different city is redundant, and even in it's time, with a higher budget, would have benefited from even more artwork, as I suggested above.

Darklands was released on diskettes. That tends to limit the amount of graphics you can squeeze in.
What I would want most out of a Darklands mod/remake has nothing to do with additional text or artwork or even new content. Even the color-shifting bug can be fixed with the party editors that are available.

I'd just want bugs fixed!

For instance, I never use sources of fire protection, like St. Polycarp or Firewall potions, because according to what I've read, they're all bugged such that they PERMANENTLY increase your resistance to ALL attacks. So using them bugs your party permanently, but not using them makes some parts of the game much harder.

Microprose was famous for weird bugs like that. Master of Magic had a bug with triremes that would become invisible, fly and something else if you cast a certain spell on them...
The save game editor available does not fix the color bug. If you know a safe one to use let me know! Or can someone make a safe one! I do not have the know how.
