So I downloaded the pre-load of CP2077 on monday/tuesday via Galaxy and now I'm seeing that it wants to re-download the full 59GB game again? Which at current slow speeds will take at least an hour.

Anyone know why this is? Galaxy also seems to be redownloading 11Gb of Wasteland3. I haven't even run these two games once on the system I installed them.

TIA

It depends on how the patch was made. If it is diff patch then it is injectable data difference between old and new version. Bruteforce update is just replacing old files with new ones. Cyberpunk has quite small amount of files - most of them are huge archives, so huge updates are expected if there is too much overhead in keeping data integrity with injected updates.

Don't worry!
Actually before starting the patch download, the game will copy itself to a temporary folder on your HD/SSD, thats why it needs another 60GB free space. The patch then itself is only 9..11GB. After patch is installed, the temp folder will be deleted and the 60GB become freed up again.
Thanks for the replies. The download went a lot faster than it should have if it had been 59GB.
