Just answering my own question. Patch notes are up now in downloads page of the game. (took them quite some time..)

True. But I would contest that your original question is still valid: what WAS in that thing?

A 6 Gb fix for "a sound related crash on startup"? Really?

The mind boggles...

Yeah, I was trying to ignore it, to their credit the hotfix does fix the audio device selection issue (for me at least).

But it leaves a lot to be desired...

Edit: The patch notes I mean.
