Hi all,

I was playing cyberpunk last night with no issues at all. After I finished playing, Windows, GOG, nvidia and Cyberpunk all had updates so I let the comp download and install these including resetting laptop to finalise install. I turned computer off last night and switched back on today and now I have serious lag! Every 2-3 seconds I'll get about 7-8 seconds of lag and stuttering.

I've tried fiddling with settings (was ultra/high but have downgraded these and switched other items off e.g. blur) and disabling the new helpful Microsoft antimalware tool that installed last night but still the same issue! Any ideas or tips please, greatly appreciated!

Windows 10 21H2
16GB ram
RTX 3070 8GB (laptop)

Try restoring Windows to previous point and check. If CP will run fine, the culprit is one of the system updates.
Also, have you tried playing another game, maybe another AAA game that could seriously test your hardware?

From my own experience, 1.5 slowed things down on Win7, but not on Win10 -- and not in the way you describe (so many seconds of lag in a recurring pattern).

To me, it sounds like a background process getting in the way. Grab yourself one of those handy "what can I turn off" lists for Win10 and go through it. It's a lengthy solution, but worth it. On any Microsoft OS, there's usually a ton of unnecessary garbage running in the background.
As THIS page reports, support for Windows 7 has been discontinued by CDPR for Cyberpunk. Perhaps they included some technical unreported update on versions 1.5 and later that made impossible for win7 users to play anymore. Sorry guys
