"the file could not be located in the installer's folder" is the error, though i've downloaded the correct file (multiple times now) and not changed the name at all.

any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful. am not a power user so might need things spelled out a bit.

You're not telling us which file is giving the error.

Is it the 1.6.1 game files? I've seen some reports of the last file (of 28) giving that error. Haven't seen a solution though.

it's the last file before the patches - -27.bin , so yeah? i guess the same one.

yeah, i found some people talking about the same problem with other games. the only solution i've heard (for other people) is that they had re-named the file. changing it back to the original name worked for them. but that is not my problem.

Assuming you are doing a new game install and the latest offline installer fail, I'd recommend you find yourself a torrent for an older version of the game and only apply the patch files.
