Downloaded the 2.1 patch and installed, no problems.
Boot up game, everything is fine. Experiment with new graphics settings, crash to desktop.
Reboot game, crash to desktop on logo videos. Game will not run anymore.
Update to newest nVIDIA-drivers. Game crash to desktop on logo videos.
Repair game through GOG, no issues found. Game crash to desktop on logo videos.
Completely uninstall Cyberpunk2077+Phantom Liberty and going for clean install since I've been using mods previously.
Download game, fails on install. Select retry-option, fails on install. Select retry-option, GOG starts downloading Cyberpunk... Again.
It's literally unplayable, unrunnable and uninstallable for me at the moment, where can I begin to troubleshoot?
Update:
Twice now I've gotten the error message "Your game is corrupted" after UNINSTALLING IT COMPLETELY as per GOG, downloaded new installers directly from GOG and then tried to install it.
Does this mean that the copy I download from GOG itself is corrupt?
Edit2:
So it turns out that the game is installed (?!) despite GOG saying it fails as I'm able to find and run the game on disk. And then we're back to crashing on desktop logo videos.
EDIT3:
When trying to download the offline installer for a "proper" install that doesn't end in an error message - the download fails.
I'm a bit sad, for the first time since the disaster that was this game's launch I allowed myself to get a tiny bit hyped. For metros and leaning on bikes, for actually sticking it out for all these years waiting for the final patch when the game was considered "done". Now I can't even play the game anymore.
EDIT4:
So I managed to download 150GB of offline installers after retrying a few times, did a complete uninstall in GOG and a fresh install from the offline installers.
Crash to desktop during the intro video again. I'm close to giving up. The game is literally unplayable for me now, unlike on release day.
After downloading close to half a terabyte and spending around 8 hours to get it to work, to say I'm disappointed would be an understatement.
EDIT5 - FIX
Ok, so I found out.
When GOG asks if you want to completely uninstall the game, including user data? GOG doesn't uninstall the game completely. The settings file that stores the GFX-settings that CRASHES THE GAME EVERY TIME IS LEFT BEHIND FOR FRESH INSTALLS.
So neither reinstalling through GOG nor using offline installers will fix the problem. Not repairing the game in GOG seemingly work either.
You need to delete the file called "UserSettings.json" in the folder " %LOCALAPPDATA%\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077\"
It's so easily accessible, the best way to find it is to "Run" the command "%LOCALAPPDATA%" from the Start menu and navigate to the folder from there.

It's poetic in one way: In the end, Cyberpunk 2077 needed user hacking to run right, just like in the beginning.
