So when I heard Patch 1.61 would finally add support not only for FSR 2.0, but FSR 2.1, I was excited. While the rest of my rig is pretty decent (Ryzen 7 3700X, 32GB 320MHz RAM, NVMe SSDs, etc.) my video card is still on the low end (Radeon RX 580 8GB), and as I like to play in high detail mode with high crowd density, I'd get an average of around 32FPS. It's doable for me, I'm not a 60FPS or nothing kinda guy. I tried FSR 1.0 and while it jacked up the FPS, it was blurry garbage.
With FSR 2.1 though in the latest patch? Wow, what a difference it makes. Minimal loss of detail, maybe a few extra visual artifacts here and there, but I can live with them and I mostly don't notice them with normal gameplay. In Performance mode, details are still surprisingly crisp, and I can push out an extra 15FPS on average compared to native 1080p, it really feels like a graphics card upgrade in many ways. I'm impressed!
Also, fixing the temporary FPS Drop after exiting a menu is a big help. That thing was really annoying and the "temporary" duration got longer and longer the more you played. Now it seems to be gone entirely.
