Themken: You must run the 64bit version. If you are doing that and still have problems, you could contact support as it should run.
EDIT: Sorry my head is foggy. Of course you cannot get GOG support help with a disc....
Ironically it was EA support that sent me the link (url) to the GOG forums to try solve this!!
Kev_Graham: ...i have an original Crysis DVD-Rom and i want to install the game on my windows 10...
Gydion: Pretty sure support won't help with that. Could be the DRM not run-able by default anymore on 10.
Got it running at last. Solution was to copy the whole DVD to a folder on the hard drive then run the installer from the folder in compatibility mode!
Thanks for your input though
Themken: Of course you are right and I think your guess about the drm is a possible culprit. Never buy games with drm!
I blame my fever.

Looking here:
https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Crysis they also suggest running the 64bit executive if game hangs on installation. Remember to patch it also.
Maybe you also need to install DirectX 10.whatever-was-the-last-one next to DX12?
