I have this exact same problem launching crysis.

win 7 64 bit

crysis warhead works fine

will there be a fix?

I uses GOG galaxy - do patches get automatically applied to games via gog galaxy?

thank you

follow this steps:

1. download d3dx10_34 (64 bit) from here: http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?d3dx10_34

2. extract with winrar/7zip and copy .dll file in: C:\Windows\System32

3. go to C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Crysis\Bin64 and execute Crysis.exe

In my case, it works.. I tried to launch without .dll file and an error says: You dont have d3dx10_34.dll blah blah...

Thiev: If you are running multi-core CPU, you should use CrysisLauncher.exe - it will launch main executable with proper parameters that set core affinity needed for the game to run.
Does ur launcher add any in-game commands executed on startup aside from choosing 32 or 64 bit executable?
I'm unable to launch it through Galaxy, but just using the "Launch Crysis" shortcut works correctly, running the 64-bit executable. Kind of a shame since I like the time logging, but at least it works.

I'd like to know this myself. Although since Galaxy doesn't let you use any command line args (feature suggestion time?), that information won't be to people trying to run it through that.

Looks like the Crysis.exe in Bin64 dir is not compatible with Galaxy.

I found the fix for the problem. BackUp the Crysis.exe in your Bin64 dir. Download the Crysis 64-bit binaries from here - https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/257-crysis-64-bit-binaries. Extract the files & copy only the Crysis.exe to the Bin64 directory. Run the game with Galaxy. Enjoy!
I found that using the included "CrysisLauncher.exe" automatically launches the 64-bit verseion. Going into Bin64 and trying to launch from Crysis64.exe does not work.

Do not launch the Crysis64.exe, you have to launch the Crysis.exe !!! Also if you have problems launching the game with Galaxy, you have to replace the Crysis.exe from PCGamingWiki.

Is there another solution to this? If I replace the crysis.exe with the one from PCGamingWiki it asks me to insert a CD.

EDIT: Nevermind, I discovered that the Evolve client was causing this. I disabled the overlay and everything worked as it should.

I reinstalled my Windows I now if I replace the Crysis64.exe (at PCGamingWiki) I get "No DVD" message too. Thankfully I have the game in Steam too & if I copy the GL.ini, paul.dll & winui.dll from Steam Bin32 directory to the GOG Bin64 directory, the message will go away. After I sucessfully did get to the mainmenu, I deleted the GL.ini, paul.dll & winui.dll files & game works fine now.

I can still can run it directly at game diretory, but with Galaxy is only way to replace the 4 files to get it to pass the black screen.

Why doesn't GOG fix this? I'm pretty sure we all pay for games which *should* work...

What's odd is the Gog created shortcut was working fine for me until I tried playing this morning. I last played back in September but now I get a black screen that flickers a few times, then it goes back to my desktop. Tried running in campatibility mode for both Win 7 and Win Vista and neither did anything. I had to use crysis.exe to get the game to run.
I'm interested if GOG is going to do something. I don't have a copy on Steam, so now I can't play the game at all. It just crashes on start.

This does not work at all. Pops up with "Insert CD/DVD". This is the Retail Physical EXE file.
I think CRYTEC...should damn well fix it. Not GOG or STEAM.
